Bureau of Foreign Trade
The Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT), which was established by the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on January 1, 1969, is responsible for formulating Taiwan's international trade policies, promoting trade, and managing trade-related activities. Over the past few decades, the BOFT's role and responsibilities have undergone numerous adjustments to meet the demands of the ever-changing international business environment.
Taiwan External Trade Development Council
Founded in 1970, TAITRA is Taiwan's foremost nonprofit trade promoting organization. Sponsored by the government and industry organizations, TAITRA assists enterprises to expand their global reach. Headquartered in Taipei, TAITRA has a team of 1,300 specialists and operates 5 local offices in Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung as well as 61 branches worldwide. Together with Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) and Taiwan Trade Center (TTC), TAITRA has formed a global network dedicated to promoting world trade.
Taiwan Green Trade Project Office

The Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) launched the “Green Trade Promotion Project” in 2011 as the central platform for Taiwan’s green trade affairs. In response to the transformation of the world into a low-carbon society, the BOFT further initiated the “Green Trade Action Plan” in 2016 while trying to maintain continuous economic growth. The missions of this Action Plan are to enhance domestic companies’ green competitiveness as well as to assist them in globally participating in green products and services promotion activities.
